Paul R Edick - GANIC Pharmaceuticals
Mr. Edick is the Chief Executive Officer of GANIC Pharmaceuticals, a start up specialty
pharmaceutical company backed by the private equity firm Warburg Pincus, focused
on enterprise development through acquisition of existing companies and products,
as well as internal product development. Prior to starting GANIC, Mr. Edick was
CEO of MedPointe Healthcare Inc., a position he has held since March of 2006. MedPointe
Healthcare was a US based specialty pharmaceutical company located in Somerset New
Jersey, USA. Mr. Edick negotiated the sale of MedPointe in 3Q 2007 to Meda AB, Sweden
and separated in 1Q, 2008.
Mr. Edick has extensive industry experience from several leading pharmaceutical
organizations. During the period April 2002 ? March 2006 Mr. Edick held the position
as President of MedPointe Healthcare Inc. Between 1994-2002, in a series of positions
at G. D. Searle and its acquirer, Pharmacia Corporation, he led Searle's US managed
care organization (1994-95), its US marketing organization (1995-96), and its Global
Pain & Inflammation Business including the development of the launch strategy for
Celebrex® (1996-97). In 1998, Mr. Edick was named Searle's VP-Canada & Latin America.
In 1999, Mr. Edick became President of Asia Pacific, Canada & Latin America. In
2000, upon Pharmacia's acquisition of Searle, Mr. Edick was named Group Vice President
and President, Asia Pacific/Latin America at Pharmacia. Mr. Edick holds a B.A. in
Psychology from Hamilton College, Clinton, New York, USA.
Patrick Heron – Frazier Healthcare
Patrick Heron became a General Partner at Frazier Healthcare in
2005, having been a partner since 2001. Mr. Heron focuses on biotechnology and growth
equity opportunities. Mr. Heron currently serves on the boards of Avera Pharmaceuticals,
Chimerix, Genospectra, Informed Medical Communications, QuatRx Pharmaceuticals and
Trubion Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Frazier Healthcare, Mr. Heron helped develop
McKinsey & Co.'s West Coast biotechnology consulting practice after starting his
career working with large pharmaceutical clients on the East Coast. His projects
included corporate strategy, M&A, product launch, sales force optimization, corporate
partnering and research prioritization. Prior to joining McKinsey, Mr. Heron also
worked with Massachusetts General Hospital in evaluating spin-off opportunities
and with Cetus Corporation. He was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Ted Lundberg
Ted Lundberg joined Ferrer Freeman & Company, LLC in 2000. Prior to FFC, he was a Financial Analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette from 1998 to 2000 with responsibilities in Health Care Investment Banking. Prior to joining DLJ, Mr. Lundberg worked for Cowen & Co. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Aerocare Holdings, Inc., Genova Diagnostics, Inc., Informed Medical Communications, Inc., OrthoRx, Inc. and Webmedx, Inc. He is also an observer of the Board of AgaMatrix, Inc. and K2M, Inc. He holds a B.A. degree from Princeton University.
Brian Morfitt
Mr. Morfitt joined Frazier Healthcare in 2003 as an Associate, became a Senior Associate in 2005, a Vice President in 2007 and a Principal in 2009. Mr. Morfitt assists with the development and review of growth equity investment opportunities and has played significant roles with the firm’s investments in Trident USA Health Services, CHG Healthcare, Pentech Health, Priority Solutions, Bravo Health and Informed Medical Communications.
Prior to joining Frazier Healthcare, Mr. Morfitt was an associate at Summit Partners, a later stage venture capital and private equity firm. While at Summit, he focused on identifying and evaluating middle market growth equity investment opportunities in the healthcare, technology and industrial growth sectors. Mr. Morfitt holds a B.S., Phi Beta Kappa, and an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
Thomas Patton, Chairman
Tom brings extensive experience in leading an array of
private and public healthcare companies. Most recently, he was the CEO and founder
of QDx, Inc., a diagnostic development company which explores new methods of hematology
analysis. Prior to QDx, Inc., Tom was the President of Novametrix Medical Systems,
Inc., a publicly traded worldwide leader in cardiopulmonary monitoring products
for critical care patients. He has also served as the President and CEO of Wright
Medical Technology, Inc., an orthopedic device company located in Memphis, TN. At
Wright, Tom led a successful turnaround of the company, orchestrated its recapitalization
led by a private equity firm and increased revenues to $140 million. Tom also served
in various capacities at Wright Medical, including as General Counsel and EVP of
Business Development. Tom started his career as a litigation attorney in Washington,
D.C., after graduating from Georgetown Law School and Holy Cross College.
Charles T. Saldarini
Charles T. Saldarini is a successful, innovative entrepreneur
credited with a leading role in the development of one of the healthcare service
industry's leading markets?contract sales, approximately valued at $900 M?and one
of its most respected service companies, PDI, a major player in the market for outsourced
sales and marketing solutions sold to the biopharmaceutical industry. During his
18 year tenure with PDI, he led the company's development from a concept stage through
to its maturity as a publicly traded company with annual revenues of approximately
$365M. He retired from PDI in October, 2005.
